Leland Grove, IL takes its name from the groves of trees on the old Leland farm on which it is located. The farm encompassed 600+ acres and was established in the 1860’s. Our trees, some of which likely date back to those rural days, remain one of the defining characteristics of our community, and past surveys have indicated that our trees are what residents cherish most about Leland Grove. Our numerous large, beautiful trees contribute much to the unique residential character of our neighborhoods. We are also recognized as a Tree City USA city.
The Leland Grove Tree Board was formed to help the City maintain and enhance the trees on City property to insure the long term viability of this natural resource.
